Description
The Purdy Burying Ground is separate from, and adjacent to the Milton Cemetery. It can be reached by a foot trail and foot bridge that crosses Blind Brook.
A plaque at the entrance to the cemetery reads,

PRE-REVOLUTIONARY PLACE OF INTERMENT
OF ONE OF RYE'S EARLY FAMILIES.
THIS TRACT OF LAND WAS PURCHASED
BY JOSEPH PURDY FROM JOHN BUDD
IN 1685.
