Description
The Putnam Cemetery was the first burial ground in Saratoga Springs, New York. Mr Cornelius Durkee recorded this cemetery in 1876 and found that it was in disreputable condition but he was able to record 232 graves. Mr Durkee's records were helpful in the restoration of the cemetery in 1921 when only 50 stones were still standing. Today this cemetery is on the National Register of Historic Places.
