Originally called "The Amenia Burying Ground," that is how it is listed in the book "Burying Grounds of Sharon, CT, Amenia and North East, NY," c. 1903, which states: "With a few exceptions, there have been no burials in this ground for nearly forty years." Many of the stones are illegible.
